Chloroacetaldehyde is an organic compound with the chemical formula ClCH₂CHO. It can be synthesized by the chlorination of acetaldehyde or by the hydrolysis of 2-chloro-1, 3-dioxolane. Chloroacetaldehyde is a clear, colourless to slightly yellow liquid with a pungent odour, known to be irritating to the skin.
